Wear comfortable clothes you can move in — everyday casual clothes are totally fine. Most people wear boots, but any comfortable shoes that stay secure on your feet and allow you to move easily will work. Avoid overly grippy shoes or anything difficult to dance in.

We teach the regional two-step style rooted in Austin, Texas. Locally, this style evolved from traditional progressive two-step and adapted to fit the smaller, crowded dance floors of Austin honky tonks and live music venues. Over time, it developed into its own unique regional style with influences from jitterbug and social dance culture.

Nope! You’re welcome to come solo or with a partner to both workshops and lessons. Many people attend alone, and we regularly rotate partners in group classes.

Perfect — dance is for everyone. We offer different levels of instruction, and many beginners are able to jump right in. Private lessons are also a great option if you want personalized feedback, extra practice, or a more comfortable pace to ask questions and build confidence.

Workshops and private lessons are held at our studio. Occasionally, we can also travel to you for private events or special bookings.
Public lessons are held at various honky tonks and venues around Austin, with our home base being The Highball on South Lamar.
